City Council Meeting
Comparatively short public meeting tonight. Wrapped up in under an hour. Looks as if the consent agenda was pretty much passed as is and the council, when I logged into the meeting, was debating where to meet for their annual retreat, which got skipped last year. Possibilities include the Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn and the downtown Hilton, though there was uncertainty as if it had meeting facilities. Funny no one mentioned the America's Best Inn.

The reasoning is obvious. Best Inn provides fewer facilities than the other hotels that the City Council feels worthy of spending the taxpayers' money on. Also, why not have a retreat in Turley Park or Giant City with potluck? Council members can provide their own food rather than charge taxpayers. Otherwise, sadly, the culture of corruption of Southern Illinois rules again. What is Ginger going to do?
ReplyDeleteSuggesting Best Inn was a joke. Diners at Hunan have seen various illicit activities taking place at Best Inn on occasion.
ReplyDeleteI see. The Mob comes to Carbondle! Well, Government and "Cosa Nostra" do mux at times.
