Southern Illinois Women's March

I had estimated about 1500 attendees at the march but apparently I overestimated by  a factor of 2 as the DE says that about 800 people. People started showing up to the event about 9 in the morning and peaked between 12 and 1 in the afternoon.  Last few protesters trekked across the Civic Center parking lot about 5 p.m. that evening.

  1. I believe 1500 was an accurate estimate when the actual march began.

  2. I agree with Tony -- DE and Southern used the number of people who had responded to the FB event as "going." I was one of those people, but brought two who didn't respond to the FB event. Multiple sources who have done video analysis put the number marching at 1500-2000, and there were attendees who didn't march, but stayed at the Civic Center.
