The city has cut down several trees bordering Main Street that were rotting out. Plans are to replace them with new trees this spring. Incidentally, you can see, just past the speed limit sign, the remnants of a light pole, the base of which rusted badly enough that it collapsed during the ice storm, blocking traffic on West Main until it could be removed.
