Not sure what it says about the strength of the Carbondale economy, it it looks as if two of the payday loan places have shuttered. Quick Cash, just past Eastgate Shopping Center has a For Sale or Lease sign in front of it and the one across the street from Wendy's has foot high grass in front of it, not a auspicious sign for an ongoing business. Of course, that does leave about three of them in Eastgate proper, conveniently located near the Little Vegas operation.
Who needs loans when the government just pays you money?
