Why Soap and Water

Why wash your hands with both soap and water? I always knew you should but here is why. The soap acts as a surfactant that releases the grip that organisms, like viruses, have on your hands. The water then washes it, along with other grime, down the drain. Of course, then it is a good idea to turn off the faucet with a tissue, since you likely left organisms on it when you turned it on. Touching it again allows them to jump back onto your hands for another go-round.
