SIUC announced it will not hold a traditional commencement ceremony this spring. The university is considering whether to delay the ceremony until later, hold a virtual event or explore some other form of celebration. This will be another huge hit to the Carbondale economy as we typically see thousands of family members stream into town that weekend, filling up the hotels and swarming the restaurants.
