In case you're one of those people who spend a lot of time puttering in their garden:
Please pass the word around that the Wednesday evening session of the stiltgrass summit is open to the general public.
Dr. Les Mehrhoff, retired curator of the University of Connecticut Herbarium, will present a history of Japanese stitlgrass in the United States. His talk is titled:
"Microstegium vimineum: George Ainslie’s Discovery and What It Means to Us"
The presentation is at 6pm on Wednesday at the Student Center Ballrooms at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Immediately following the presentation, there will be a reception and poster session. This evening is open to the general public, no registration is necessary. Of course, everyone is welcome to register and attend the entire two-day meeting. For more information on the stitlgrass summit go to: www.rtrcwma.org/stitlgrass
