Meet the Mayor

 There is another Meet the Mayor event scheduled for 1 p.m. Tomorrow at the East Main Starbucks. Your opportunity to have the ear of the Mayor, at least for an hour.  Wonder if there will be any union activity while she is there?

Starbuck's Strike

 Carbondale Starbucks employees are on strike. Nationwide strike against the chain over working conditions. Picketers outside the shop on East Walnut, certainly much more enthusiastic than those picketing the Choices clinic on Giant City road

Starbucks Union

 Employees at the Starbucks on East Main successfully voted to unionize. vote was 11 yes, 2 no and 1 ballot challenged, which was enough to see the vote passed.

Do not think this will mean any major chages to customers of the business, although Starbucks has threatened to withhold some health care benefits from employees at  any of its stores that voted to unionize.
