Seeing people riding on the sidewalk in downtown reminded again that the town could use some signage directing riders to the various bike paths around town. If nothing else, one at the town square and another at SIUC pointing riders to the path connecting the two locations. Seems a shame to have spend so much money building the path and not making sure riders know it is there.
Another waste of money! Many cyclists do not use the bike paths. One nearly collided into my car cycling in the wrong lane along the Chautaqua roundabout one evening. Others use it as a walking route. Both offenders never had lights to warn approaching vehicles of their presence.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with you that it is a waste of money. There are lots of cyclists that travel safely and bike properly in town. The ones that do not are the ones that stand out. I just wish more people knew of the bike paths and bikre repair stations the city has build or installed.
