I remember sitting in at meeings, during the Rita Chang administration, when the destruction of the Towers was actively discussed with the planned replacements a series of three-story halls surrouding a central commons area like those over by Campus Lake. However, lack of funding precluded the univeisty from moving forward with the plans.
