SIUE Enrollment Up

Wish I'd see a story like this about SIUC sometime.

  1. A clear example of one campus that wants to server the public and the other who wants to be as good as U of I, and doesn't care if it serves the public.

You have to wonder where SIU would be if they spent their time, money and energy trying to improve the university. In the last 10 years, SIU bought a fancy new face for their library, a new football stadium, a greatly improved chemistry and physics departments and ... All worthless for serving the public. It is true that "Glenn Poshard" has a luxury box for football games now, so that is something.

Imagine if SIU decided to really serve the public. Maybe, SIU should become "the vocation training university"? Isn't that the niche that needs to be served and what the public needs?
