SIU Leaders Get More Money

Given the number of unfilled positions at SIU and that the university still has not seen a consistent increase in attendance during Lane's term in office, a raise for top administration seems a bit pre-mature, especially since the numbers are still less than half the number of enrolled students at its peak in 1990

  1. Another scandalous incident at SIUC. The place is struggling to make ends meet and they give raises to the people who have done absolutely nothing to increase enrollments. If SIUYC tanks in the next few years, Carbondale goes with it. The BOT needs to be democratically elected from the local community not appointed by a Governor.

  2. $180,000 given out as bonuses. That would fund about 3 positions for a year.

    1. Yea, but administrators do not care about programs which are in danger of collapse due to retirement and hiring freezes. As I type this, I'm listening to an NPR segment on the decline of colleges and the development of vocational education. SIUC deserves everything it will get in the next two years with zero state enrollment.
