Had someone asking for suggestions for food today and was hard pressed to think of any local place that serves traditional "American" food such as burgers, steak, chicken, eggs, etc. The only places I could direct them to were Mary Lou's, Harbaughs, Dale's Burger Shack and Giant City Lodge. Am I missing any places in Carbondale that are not chains?
There is the food truck next to Murdale and the Shell station that's open all summer. Owned or at least staffed by Jerri. Has all of the quote/unquote American foods you cite.
