ReplyDeleteAnd local newspapers in general. Something like 2000 local papers have shuttered during the past 5 years.
ReplyDeleteHere, it could be censorship. The reason the DE was limited to one day a week could be SIUC's dislike of investigative journalism. Also, the CARBONDALE TIMES has not been the same since it passed under new ownership and discontinued NIGHTLIFE. The SOUTHERN is bland and refuses to investigate certain stories that could affect the Carbondale economy. It is not trusted for reliable news anyway.
