Learned today that the Verizon parking lot, which I have suggested on several occasions,the city buy to expand parking for the Civic Center and City Hall, has been sold to the First Christian Church just across Monroe to the north. The church plans to sell off the gravel lot it currently uses and will share the Verizon lot with Carbondale Community Arts as well as businesses located in the Julia Building, both of which abut the lot on the south side.
