Ribbon Cuttings

In case you like attending ceremonies, there are a couple of ribbon cuttings taking place this week. Friday Oct 5 at 11 a.m. a cutting will celebrate the new solar installation at Gaia House on South Illinois and then Saturday Oct 6, also at 11 a.m. there is a cutting at the new Family Drug on the far west side of town, located in what was the short lived Doctor Donuts. Family Drug should do a lot better there than Doctor Donuts, since a pharmacy is more of a destination store that a donut shop is. We are willing to make more of an effort to get our prescriptions then we are doughnuts.

The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, July 21 at Heartland Regional Urgent Care in Carbondale. The event will include an opportunity to tour the facility and meet the center’s medical staff.

Heartland Regional Urgent Care offers patients a skilled medical team when needs require immediate attention. No appointment is necessary and the facility offers expanded hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and on-site laboratory services are available.

The center is located in the Office Place complex at 2250 Reed Station Parkway, Suite 305 behind Golden Corral in Carbondale. Heartland Regional Urgent Care is a department of Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Representatives of the Chamber, City and business will participate in the ceremony. The event is open to the public.

Ribbon cutting for Intuitive Massage and Bodywork this Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Looks as if it is in the Julia Building, the same location as E. Clair Salon

The Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting at Fast Lane Express today at 11:30. Looks as if the main focus will be on quick oil changes and other fast maintenance to your car:

The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the grand opening of Fast Lane Express with a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
Valvoline Fast Lane Express is a full-service oil change and auto care facility. The business offers oil changes, tire rotation, auto detailing and more. Fast Lane Express has a full-time mechanic on duty. The business is located at 400 N. Glenview in Carbondale.
Representatives of the Chamber, City and business will participate in the ceremony. The event is open to the public.

REACH618 Ribbon Cutting

This Monday .  Hopefully the press release is in error an the ribbon cutting is at 4:30 PM:

The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting at 4:30 a.m., Monday at REACH618. The organization operates out of the former Bowen Gym on North Oakland Avenue.

REACH618 is a basketball-based outreach for Southern Illinois high school students. The organization strives to provide a safe place for teens to meet, interact and learn through conversations, activities and character-development activities.

Representatives of the Chamber, City and organization will participate in the ceremony. The event is open to the public.

Carbonale Tourism Ribbon Cutting

Next Wednesday at 4 p.m. Press release makes no mention of free food though:

The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting at Carbondale Tourism Bureau’s new location, 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27. The tourism office and welcome center recently moved to a new location at 126 S. Illinois Ave

Carbondale Tourism is a not-for-profit organization responsible for marketing the community as a tourist destination, for serving and welcoming visitors and for coordinating tourism-related activities and efforts. The ribbon cutting is part of a open house for the bureau.

Representatives of the Chamber, City and Carbondale Tourism will participate in the ceremony. The event is open to the public.
