There is another Meet the Mayor event scheduled for 1 p.m. Tomorrow at the East Main Starbucks. Your opportunity to have the ear of the Mayor, at least for an hour. Wonder if there will be any union activity while she is there?
Daily (more or less) commentary on news and events in Carbondale and the Southern Illinois region, with occasional excursions to other locales.

Meet the Mayor
Carolin Harvey is starting up Meet the Mayor sessions again with the first session taking place tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Neighborhood Co-Op. Anytime civic leaders make themselves available to take questions from the public, it helps the city as a whole. Here is hoping that some of the city council members make themselves available as well.

Making Assumptions
Interesting, as a reader of the blog pointed out, that Mayor Henry assumes, based on his Meet the Mayor dates, that he will be re-elected. He has Meet the Mayor dates scheduled all the way through December.

Meet The Mayor
The first Meet the Mayor event at Harbaugh's Cafe this morning looks as if it had pretty light turnout. However, given that today is only the third day of the year and a drizzly grey one at that, I expect future ones to boast better attendance. Both this and Coffee with a Cop are excellent outreaches by the city.
