Should you be in the market, now apparently is a good time to pick up rental properties in Carbondale as several landlords are liquidating properties. Of course, that also indicates they do not see a large influx of students anytime in the near future. Anytime rental agencies and construction companies cut back in a market, that's a bad sign as they are some of the most optimistic businesses out there.
The entire home rentals portfolio has an offer on the table. "It very well may fall through" (direct quote from a realtor) but... the properties listed for sale are not actually for sale yet -- as home rentals obviously prefers selling all their properties in one transaction as opposed to piece by piece. I learned this when I tried to look at one property and was told it wasn't available for showing because "an offer is pending"
ReplyDeletesounds somewhat like the used car dealership that used to be on the west side of Carbondale> Tried to buy a car there once and offered cash but was told they only sold on payments. Wanted to make extra money on interest. Not quite the same as Home Rentals but both want to sell but on their terms.
