First meeting of the Planning Commission for 2011 takes place Jan 5 at 7 p.m. in room 108 of the Civic Center. On the agenda:
A. PC 11-09, 7:00 p.m. NeuroRestorative requests a Special Use Permit for a Group Home I, not in compliance with administrative occupancy permit requirements related to spacing and/or licensing in subsection 15-2J-2C, in the RR, Rural Residential, District at 24 Chippewa Drive.
B. PC 11-10, Lisa Thomas & Jessica Lagona request to rezone from R-1-15,
Low Density Residential, to R-2, Medium Density Residential, for property located at 1211 West Sycamore.

A. Planning Commission Meetings Calendar for 2011
The planning commision should not vote for any issue which destroys the integrity of the single family neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteNew economic development in Carbondale will depend on two factors for the person willing to invest money. (1) Low real estate taxes (2) Single family neighborhoods in which to live and raise their children.
The recent actions by Carbondale do not appear to demonstrate they understand that either of these issues are important. During this past year our single family neighborhood was corrupted by city actions through their action or inaction. The real estate taxes were raised by action.
As a person who has lived in Carbondale for 35 years I am extremely upset that the community has forgotten these simple rules to follow. Many persons don't complain they just move out of the community. I would hate to do this.
