Stotlar House Update

Nothing new legalwise since the reprieve until March 1 but the earthmoving machine that was parked ominously in the front yard is gone. Guess the cost of leaving it sitting there for another month was more than Home Rentals wanted to pay.

  1. Who is going to pay the $200,000 to fix the house? You know the Fishers aren't going to. Should be a rat trap for the Arbor District for years to come, if it isn't torn down.

This reminds me of the knuckle headed thinking that killed the CVS deal. You want a livable neighborhood or not?

  2. The Fishers should fix the house, they received the insurance money, right? They are also the ones who circumvented the process for demolition. They knew the house was in a historical district and were also the ones who did not return calls by the original owners who wanted to restore the house. Home rentals is also the ones who let the house fall in to disrepair as they have for HUNDREDS of other houses in Carbondale. You tell me how livable home rentals has made this neighborhood. Also, tell me how living next to a 24 hour brightly lit commercial enterprise in a residential area makes said area livable? Maybe PeterG wants to move back to Carbondale. Why else make such remarks from 2,000 miles away. I know a historical arts and crafts house in the 500 block of west main you can by for cheap, though it needs a little work.
