I see the city has been doing some work patching holes on West Willow. for some reason, despite the concrete slab construction, the holes get really bad in some locations along there. Unfortunately, the patching consisted of filling the holes with asphalt and tamping it down so it will probably wash out in the next rain. Street needs resurfacing but that probably won't happen until after the Wall Street and Poplar Street construction is finished.
It seems like in at least the past 4 or 5 years the city is not doing the same amount of pot hole patching that they used to do. Particularly after the spring and summer patching seasons of 2024 and 2025 it was noticeable at least to me that lots of pot holes were still there when winter came around again. With a sales tax of 9.75% combined with 4% liquor and 2% resturant taxes can the city not afford to fix pot holes? 2 million dollar state grant announced Nov. 2025 to resurface mutliple streets also.
